How We Met & The Birth of The Career Escape

We met through the British Association of CV Writers (BACVW), did some work together and quickly recognised that we get energised by the same things – namely, helping our clients into new careers, oversharing our life stories, and a love of dogs.

We both support people through career change but specialise in different areas within that, so this led to collaborating, client referrals and ultimately the idea for this podcast.

We'd both been thinking about a podcast for a while, and being sociable, sharing and busy types, didn't fancy facing this mammoth task alone. Fortunately, while Charley was having a swim in the sea, she was struck by a profound moment of clarity and wisdom – realising that Tony was the perfect person for her to co-host a podcast with.

Not wasting a moment, she messaged him asap with this exciting idea. Tony was overcome with dual enthusiasm and replied it was in 'perfect alignment with his long-term strategic vision'….or perhaps he just said HELL YES!!!! Either way, he hopped on a plane from Northern Ireland to England, Charley and Tony met up in Brighton, we instantly realised a podcast with each other was the best idea we'd ever had to support our clients, and here we are.
